The race starts in the most westerly island of Faroe Islands, Vágar. From the start at Vágar Airport (Faroe Islands only airport), the peloton continue against the road tunnel Vágatunnilin measuring 5 km in length and running under the sea connects Vágar with the two largest islands Streymoy and Eysturoy and the capital Tórshavn.

From the start at Vágar Airport (Faroe Islands only airport), the peloton continue against the road tunnel Vágatunnilin measuring 5 km in length and running under the sea connects Vágar with the two largest islands Streymoy and Eysturoy and the capital Tórshavn.
On Streymoy the peloton follows the road 10 down to the fjord Kollafjørður, before they goes north against the bridge that connects Streymoy and Eysturoy.
Eysturoy is only separated by a narrow sound from the main island of Streymoy. The island of Eysturoy is extremely rugged, and the rider have to cross some peaks there on way to the next island, Borðoy. A rider with a off day, might have problems to keep the speed of the peloton through this rugged part of the race. Before the peloton cross the bridge over to Borðoy, they race goes through the town, Leirvík.
On the other side of the bridge awaits the town Klaksvík, the second largest town in the Faroes. The last km of the race, going north on small roads against the finish line on the island Viðoy, the northern-most island in the Faroe Islands. It`s very important to keep a good postion on the small roads, to avoid crashes and have a possibility to win the race.
The road to town of Viðareiði where the finish line is, goes along the west coast of Viðoy. The rider that still in the peloton will sprint against each other about the victory

Description
The terrain in Vágar - Viðoy has no climbs and has only easy downhills. The terrain has no hills and has many very long and flat distances. The finishing is a very technical sprint demanding the riders to do a good sprint in the end. The route is pretty technical. Wind speed: 9,6 m/s.
